Quest Diagnostics has built a reputation for quality in the United States and throughout the countries in which it maintains operations. In India, Quest Diagnostics operates on the same exacting standards as our other labs.

All our laboratories conduct rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) programs.

Quality Assurance

Our Quality Assurance program systematically monitors quality, and the effectiveness of this program is reviewed and enhanced regularly.

We maintain standardized platforms, primary and secondary validations, National Quality Assurance NQA, common standard operating procedures, internal and external proficiencies and standardization of interpretation in anatomic pathology.

Assessment activities include test result reviews for completeness, appropriateness, usefulness, accuracy and reliability. The laboratory's QA program comprises general laboratory, pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic system assessments, as well as evaluations of proficiency testing outcomes and processes.

Our QA program also includes a process for comparing test results among methods, instruments and satellite laboratories that perform the identical test. Personnel evaluations are also performed regularly to ensure reliable and consistent performance and clear communication with you.

Quality Control

Quality Control (QC) is a component activity of Quality Assurance that occurs during the analytic phase of testing, before patient results are reported. Control materials with known values are tested in parallel with patient specimens on every testing batch. Before patient results are reported, the control results must meet the stated acceptability criteria.

Each technical Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) includes instructions for the correct use of QC materials. Quest Diagnostics has established and maintains personnel policies to ensure employees meet or surpass the necessary qualifications and training required to perform their duties.

Our laboratories adhere to a Quality Improvement program to identify and pursue opportunities to improve customer service and patient care. Supplementing Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement more proactively focuses on enhancing the quality of services provided and customer satisfaction. Like Quality Assurance, a Quality Improvement program involves all areas of operations (pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic) in each laboratory department.

Corporate NQA staff perform internal inspections to help ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and corporate requirements.

Global Logistics Network

Quest Diagnostics commands a global logistics network to ensure your specimens are handled timely and efficiently. This robust domestic and international system identifies and closely monitors every specimen using sophisticated, market-proven Standard Operating Procedures that focus on:

  • Specimen handling
  • Driver safety
  • Packing and labeling
  • Dry ice usage

Staff members provide immediate response to customers who may have questions or concerns about specimen handling, pickups or tracking.

Our global network comprises company-owned aircraft and vehicles, and dedicated employees who work cooperatively with global logistics leaders, such as SkyPak, DHL and others.
